Does a photo get activated immediately after I check it?

Not immediately, no. 
As Fetish.com admins check every image before publishing, it may take a short while until the photo you rated is activated and live on the website.

Bear in mind, if a photo doesn't stick within the photo rules, it won't get activated at all.
